When Worlds Collide: Bad Blood 2004

Bad Blood 2004
Matt: Welcome to When Worlds Collide Bad Blood 2004 edition, and I'm BAAAAAAAAAACK! Yes, I "The Love," The Quintessential Bran Muffin, and all that jazz am BACK on the Gamecube. But since Cash did such a great job taking over for me last month, we're bringing him back to take over for James, who's dead. And now, here's a very-much-alive Cash Melville!
Cash: Amazingly enough, I’ve been called back to pick up the slack again! This time it’s for James instead of Seagull (though I have a sneaking suspicion that Seagull might not be around come Great American Bash…). As we all know, when I come and do WWC, the quality multiplies by about fifteen. Enough of my ego-stroking though, let’s look at what we have.
I always thought that I would be ultra excited whenever Benoit was on the card twice, but I’m really just minutely excited about this PPV. This is pretty strange since Raw has been so good lately. Maybe if Raw had been excellent this past week, I’d be pumped up about this. We’re seeing stuff done that has been done before and this really seems like it is filler stuff. Argh, now I’m starting to sound like everyone else now.
Mike: Hey look, a PPV that involves the show that doesn't suck complete ass week in and week out. RAW's got most of the talent, and most of the established stars, and fewer ridiculous gimmicks, which usually translates into a better product. If you need further proof, look no further than the card for the PPV. You've got Chris Benoit wrestling not once, but twice, Benjamin and Orton, which should be pretty decent, and Eugene and the Coach, which won't be *****, but will certainly be entertaining. Oh yeah, and we have that little thing called HELL. IN. A. CELL. Something to finally end (maybe) the feud that HHH and HBK have been having since Shawn returned to wrestling. Solid card, should be a solid PPV.
Last Month
N64: 3 for 6 (Jackie/Chavo not simmed) - 50% - F
PS2: 5 for 7 - 71% - C-
GC: 4 for 6 (Tag Title Match not simmed) - 67% - D+
Mike: 4 for 6 (No thoughts on Torrie/Dawn, can't say I blame him) - 67% - D+
James: 2 for 6 (No thoughts on Dudleys/Rey/RVD) - 33% - F-
Cash: 3 for 7 - 36% - F-
Matt: 5 for 7 - 71% - C-
Matt's Thoughts: Yeah! Who da man? I beat ALL the humans! Surprisingly, EVERYBODY, all the video game systems and all of the humans thought the Dudleys would beat RVD and Rey. Hooray for unpredictability. You can also imagine ALL the humans thought Eddie would beat Bradshaw. Oh well, there's always next month.
Cash's Thoughts: What can I say? I suck. Once you come to terms with your own sucking, it's not so bad.
Why does it have to be against Coach?
Eugene vs. Coach
The Gamecube Says: At least this fight will be fair, since it's two CAW's going against each other. I gave Eugene Regal's move set and Coach Al Snow's moveset.
Gut wrench by Coach to start. Eugene with a small package early. Coach whips Eugene into the corner and dropkicks him. Coach gets a cookie sheet but Eugene wrestles it away from Coach. Eugene grabs a kendo stick. They get back into the ring. Drop toe hold by Eugene. Eugene goes to the outside and grabs a trashcan lid. Eugene reverses an Irish whip and sends Coach into the ring. A couple of gutwrenches by Coach. Eugene sends Coach into the ring. Eugene grabs another cookie sheet, nails Coach with it and busts him open!
Small package by Eugene only gets 1. Eugene grabs a garbage can. Coach knocks it out of Eugene's hands. Eugene whipped into the buckle. Eugene fights back with a slew of punches. Cover by Coach in the middle of the ring only gets 1. Coach signals for the Coach Plow! Eugene ties Coach up in the ropes. Submission by Eugene, and Coach can't hit his finisher! DDT by Coach. Suplex by Coach. Coach drives a knee into Eugene's back. Superplex by Coach!!! Coach picks Eugene up and hits a bulldog. Cover! 1...2...kick out by Eugene! Eugene is struggling to get to his feet. Russian leg sweep by Eugene. He signals for the end! Eugene puts Brass knuckles on, and misses Coach! Coach signals for the Coach plow! But Eugene nails Coach with a punch...no sell! Another knuck shot! A third time! Coach STILL no sells! Drop toe hold by Eugene. He nails Coach again with the knucks! Cover 1...2...3 and it's over at 5 minutes, 48 seconds! Eugene learned how to cheat from his mentor! **1/2
Does Matt Agree?: On the victory? Hell yes. Coach is losing this Sunday. But will that match be as good as this one? Probably not. And Eugene won't have to resort to using brass knuckles to beat Coach. It'll be entertaining, but not the most technical masterpiece.
The N64 says: My capabilities are limited, which is unfortunate, because my attempt at CAWing Eugene failed horribly. Kicks and punches to start the contest off, and Eugene goes for a quick low blow. Irish whip by Eugene into a backbody drop.. Atomic drop by Eugene. Backbreaker by Eugene. Another backbreaker. Snapmare by Eugene. Eugene goes for the rollup and gets a one count. Eugene picks up the coach and hits a Michinoku driver, but Coach gets his foot on the rope. Another atomic drop onto Coach. Coach goes for a low blow but misses, Eugene counters with a clothesline. A third atomic drop by Eugene. Coach gets behind Eugene, but Eugene counters with a low blow kick. Inverted atomic drop by Eugene, followed by another. Coach then hits with a low blow. Eugene goes up top and nails a DDT off the top rope to get the pinfall at 4:27.
Does Mike agree? Ouch. Coach got his ass kicked, bad. Yeah, I see Eugene winning here. I don't know if Garrison Cade's going to run in here or not. I honestly thought those two were going to be having this match, not the Coach, but since they've completely forgotten about Cade, I don't know if he'll be involved or not. Either way, I think Eugene's winning, and this will be a fun match if nothing else.
The PS2 Says: Cash needs to learn how to do CAWs better. Coach is mysteriously a woman who has absolutely no moveset and Eugene has all of his attributes spread out and has Chris Benoit’s moveset. This should be quick and painless…
Coach runs at Eugene and gets an armdrag for his troubles. Eugene picks Coach up and whips him into the corner. From there, Eugene takes a run at Coach and delivers a nice clothesline that squishes Coach like the bug his is. Dinsmore goes up top and delivers one of the two moves that I gave him outside of Benoit’s moveset… A PHOENIX SPLASH!!!! WOOO! Eugene picks up Coach and delivers the German suplex pin for the 1…2…3. Eugene takes this one in a squash that lasted 57 seconds. *** (for the phoenix splash alone).
Does Cash Agree? I think it’s safe to say that Dinsmore is going to win this one, and over the course of the next two months, we’ll start to see signs of him not being the person everyone thinks he is (he has merchandise to sell!). From here, I’m not sure where they can take Dinsmore besides turning him heel. I’m avoiding my biggest complaint though…
Why the fluck is the Coach on PPV again? Are they trying to keep him happy or something? Where the hell is Tajiri? Where is Maven? Where is anybody but Coach??? This kind of crap makes me just want to beat the absolute hell out of writers. Surely they could have let Cade wrestle in this, it’s not like he’s going anywhere anytime soon. Pht!
Double the Benoit? Hell yeah!
Chris Benoit and Edge vs. La Resistance (c) for the Tag Team Titles
The N64 says: Armdrag by Grenier to start. Benoit then lays some punches and chops on followed by a snapmare. Another hard chop by Benoit sends Grenier to the ground. Chops by Grenier, followed by chops by Benoit. Benoit gets to close to the corner, and Conway makes him pay for it. Benoit tags in Edge, then gets in a dropkick for good measure. Edge hits a back suplex on Grenier, then another. Grenier's had enough, and he tags in Conway. All four men get in the ring now, and Conway and Benoit go at it while Edge and Grenier mix it up. The tag partners go back to their corners, and Edge delivers a backbreaker to Conway. Edge tags in Benoit. Irish whip by Conway followed by a dropkick. Side suplex by Conway, who then tags in Grenier. Benoit tags in Edge.
Grenier hits Edge with a right, Edge hits a powerslam then tags Benoit back in. Irish whip by Benoit followed by an elbow. Enziguri by Benoit. Scoop slam by Benoit, but Grenier manages to tag in Conway. Side Russian leg sweep by Conway. Benoit counters with a backbreaker. Benoit tags in Edge. Punches and chops by Edge. Hard right to the head of Conway, followed by another. Conway comes back with a right of his own. Monkey flip by Conway. Rollup by Edge gets a one count. Conway tags in Grenier. Side suplex by Conway before he heads out. Edge recovers and hits a piledriver on Grenier. Back suplex by Edge, who then locks in the Figure Four, but Grenier gets to the ropes. Edge hits a powerslam, and goes for a cover, but only gets a two count before Conway breaks it up. Hard right to the head by Edge. Benoit comes in and knocks down Grenier. Edge goes for another cover, but Grenier kicks out at two. Grenier gets up and tags in Conway. Enziguri by Conway. Edge gets up and hits a scoop slam. Another enziguri by Conway. Edge tags in Benoit. Irish whip by Conway knocks Grenier off the apron. Benoit goes for a suplex, but Conway pushes him down. Tag in to Grenier. Rollup by Grenier gets a one count. Grenier goes for a Maven-esque dropkick, and misses by a good foot. Benoit tags in Edge. Edge goes up top and hits a knee on Grenier. Spinning heel kick by Grenier. Grenier tags in Conway. Irish whip by Conway into a backbody drop. Side suplex by Conway. Springboard dropkick by Conway. Armdrag on Edge. Edge recovers and gets the tag to Benoit. Conway hits a powerbomb into a facebuster, and goes for the cover, but Benoit kicks out at two. Conway then tags in Grenier.
Benoit tags in Edge. Armdrag by Grenier. Reverse DDT by Grenier. Conway interferes and hits a reverse DDT of his own, followed by a dropkick by Grenier. Benoit joins the fray and he and Edge hit a double suplex by Conway, who has been tagged in. Side Russian leg sweep by Conway, followed by another. Backbreaker by Conway, who then goes for the cover, but Benoit breaks it up at two. Hard rights by Edge, into a Side Effect. Conway goes for a rollup, but Benoit breaks it up. Benoit hits a side suplex, and Edge goes for the cover, but Conway kicks out. Edge nails Conway with a couple of hard rights. Edge Irish whips Conway then hits the spear. And another spear by Edge! He goes for the cover but can only get a two count. Edge tags in Benoit. Conway tags in Grenier. Press slam by Benoit gets a two count. Back suplex by Benoit, who goes for the cover again, and this time gets the three count at 28:07.
Does Mike agree? Stupid ass N64 and its long ass matches. No, I don't agree. This match is not going thirty minutes, nor is La Resistance losing the tag titles. I like the idea of Benoit wrestling twice at one PPV, but I'd like to think the tag belts could be better utilized with two actual tag teams wrestling over them. However, the real point of this match is to set up an Edge/Benoit feud, so I see why they're doing it.
The PS2 Says: The PS2 is excited because Chris Benoit is in the match. We start out with Edge and Conway locking up with Edge whipping Conway into the ropes. Goes to hit Mr. Conway with a back body drop, but that sneaky American goes over and lands on his feet, then proceeds to DDT Edge. Being the trooper that he is, Edge jumps right back up and starts punching away on Conway. Edge gets Conway down with a spinning heel kick and runs over to tag Chris Benoit. God enters the ring and quickly hits a German Suplex on Conway. After immediately picking him up, Benoit hits an armbar takedown, softening Conway up for the crossface. Benoit then goes into a long series of strikes and stomps (when Conway is on the mat), but eventually hits the armbar takedown again. Conway (being the weakling that he is in the game), is hurting pretty bad at this point and could really use a tag. Benoit throws Conway into the ropes, runs at him, and knocks Edge off the apron. The champ grabs Conway and hits a snap suplex and then picks Conway up off the mat and locks in the crossface! Conway taps to God, making all things right in PS2 World. Your winners and new tag team champions are Chris Benoit and Edge at 3 minutes and 14 seconds. **1/2
Does Cash agree? Not a chance. This is the match that will build to Chris Benoit vs. Edge on down the line. I guess we’ll be seeing an errant spear from Edge that leads to Benoit laying down for the tag champs. It’s a tried and true formula for kick starting a feud, and if this leads to a heel Edge that actually has character, I’m all for it. The champs are going to retain their belts here, no question.
The Gamecube Says: Seeing Edge come out to the Rob Zombie music makes me remember that his "shit my pants" dance wasn't so horrible long ago. Why'd he drop the tuneskies? Prepare for quite the long match.
Edge and Conway start out. Edge grabs a cookie sheet and nails Conway with it. Immediately tag to Benoit. That's what I like to see! Benoit puts a whoopin on Conway. Conway can take no more and makes the tag to Grenier. Grenier fairs slightly better against Benoit, until Benoit picks upt he cookie sheet and goes postal on Grenier. Grenier fights back and makes the tag to Conway. Quick tags. I like that.
La Resistance puts the double team on Benoit on the outside until Edge comes over to make the save. Double flapjack to Conway by Benoit and Edge! Count's still going. Benoit gets back in the ring, as does Conway, but Edge and Grenier are still fighting on the outside. Gutwrench by Benoit. He signals for the crossface! But Conway gets a chair and nails Benoit with it. Back in the ring, Benoit hits a dragon screw on Conway, followed by another Gutwrench. More action on the outside, and I'm definitely sensing a count out is in the works. A four way brawl is going on inside the ring, but Conway is getting his butt kicked. Cover by Benoit, but Grenier comes in and breaks it up. Benoit signals for the Crossface. CONWAY BLOCKS THE GERMANS! He signals for the end! So does Grenier! But nobody can get their finisher in. Conway signals for his finisher and hits a VICIOUS powerbomb on Benoit, but only gets 1! Benoit tags out to Edge finally.
Edge continues to put a beating down on Conway, who needs to tag out with the quickness. Edge blocks a kick from Conway and dropkicks him down. More beatings on Conway until the RUNNING HUG! Edgecution! Cover! Grenier breaks it up! Dammit! CONWAY DDTS EDGE ON A COOKIE SHEET AND BUSTS HIM OPEN! HOLY SHIT! Cover, but only 1! Top 3 Spot of the night candidate already. Conway signals for the end. Edge reverses the powerbomb! Edge signals for the end too! They both block each others finishers! But Edge hits the Edgecution! Cover! Conway kicks out! Edge tags to Benoit just as Conway signals for the powerbomb.
Benoit signals for the Crossface! He's got it locked in! Conway doesn't tap! Conway picks up the pipe and BASHES Benoit with it. Both Edge and Benoit are now bleeding! Northern lights by Conway and Benoit kicks out at 1. Benoit whipped to the outside and we've got a brawl. Benoit quickly gets back in the ring. On the outside, Edge hits the Edgecution on Grenier. Cover in the ring, but Conway kicks out! What will it take?? Another Edgecution to Grenier on the outside. And another! Grenier hasn't been tagged in in a while, and he's OUT on the outside. Benoit signals for the end! Regal wins a test of strength and bridges into a suplex, but only a 1 count. Conway FINALLY tags out to Grenier, as Benoit tags out to Edge.
Grenier signals for the end, Edge blocks the Superkick! He also blocks a back suplex! Edgecution on Grenier! Will that be enough! No! Conway makes the save! Another pin, another save by Conway. Grenier tags Conway in, and Edge suplexes him off the apron. Edge tags Benoit back in. So we're back to Benoit and Conway. Enziguri by Conway! Benoit blocks one powerbomb by Conway, but not the second. Cover, Benoit kicks out at two! Both Benoit and Conway signal for their finishers. Conway hits the powerbomb, no sell by Benoit. ANOTHER powerbomb. Benoit is down. Cover, Edge breaks it up! Benoit blocks the powerbomb again! Dragon screw by Benoit. ANOTHER powerbomb by Conway. Conway blocks the Crossface! Benoit tags in Edge.
Conway NAILS Edge many times with a cookie sheet. Edge hits a monkey flip on Conway. Cover. Kick out by Conway. They're back on the outside. Benoit hits the rolling germans on Grenier! The count is broken, but they're back on the outside. Back inside, Edge with a headlock on Conway. Conway signals for the end, but Edge keeps fighting. Edge signals for the end. Edgecution! But Conway no sells! Another! Another no sell! Edge O Matic! No sell! Small package! Grenier breaks it up at the last second!!! Conway reverses Edge and hits the powerbomb. Cover, Edge kicks out! 8 minutes to go or the time runs out!
Edge blocks the powerbomb, but can't block the second one. Which Edge no sells. Another powerbomb, another no sell. Edgecution! Conway no sells! Tag to Grenier. Grenier's arguably the fresher of the four. Edge tags out to Benoit. Dragon back suplex by Grenier, Edge breaks up the pin! 5 and a half minutes left in the match! Superkick by Grenier. Crossface! Grenier taps! A bloody Benoit and Edge regain the Tag Team Championship at 25 minutes, 22 seconds! *****
Does Matt Agree?: Sadly, no. I don't see the match going 15 minutes, let alone 25. Benoit IS God, but they're not going to push him too hard. The match will definitely not be a five star affair, but I think it'll be a hot opening match. This time, Benoit inadvertantly nails Edge, leading to a La Resistance victory. Edge will interfere against Benoit later in the night, and ladies and gents, we have your Vengeance main event.
Should be in the main event vs. Shouldn't be on the card at all
Chris Jericho vs. Tyson Tomko
The PS2 Says: Tyson Tomko bears a strong resemblance to Enrique Molinero’s CAW from the OFL. “Tyson” is probably going to squash Jericho, just like Enrique does in every freaking match I sim with him.
We start out with a lockup and Tyson immediately goes for a bear hug. Jericho gets out of it with relative ease and gives Tomko a flashback for his troubles. Now the domination begins. Jericho starts to stomp away on Tomko, and the Tonka truck rolls out of the way. Jericho again grabs Tommy Tutone (Hi Lauren!) and gives him a nice little suplex, then stomps on him some more. Jericho picks up Tomko and just starts to beat the ever living crap out of him with strikes and stomps for about 2 minutes. After deciding that he was growing bored of this, Jericho starts to work the leg when Tomko is down. Being the hoss that he is, Tomko shows that he has absolutely no flexibility. When the hold is finally broken, Jericho whips Tomko into the ropes, but he was a little close and Tomko flies out of the ring. Jericho absolutely demoralizes Tomko on the outside of the ring. This is pitiful. Tomko finally knocks Jericho down, and reaches under the ring to grab a chair!!! While he was doing this, Jericho ran back to the inside of the ring. Tomko and chair get into the ring and take a swing at Jericho while the referee is looking right at them. It connects, but we don’t get a DQ. See, the video game is just like reality! Tomko then hits Jericho with the chair again, and this time he’s DQ’d for his troubles. Chris Jericho wins via disqualification at 5 minutes and 49 seconds. **
Does Cash Agree? I don’t know what to say about this match. The build has been terrible without Christian there to give it some quality mic work. I’m hoping that they get Jericho way away from Trish and Tyson by giving him a strong win here. We all know that Jericho will fly around the ring like the rag-doll that he is. By Tomko looking strong, a loss really won’t help him. Plus, they can write it off that the veteran, Jericho, just outsmarted the rookie, Tomko. We can all expect Trish to get locked in the Walls and get a spanking before she is ejected from ringside. *** (for Jericho dominating him)
The Gamecube Says: Tomko's got Christian's moveset, but what a shitty CAW. Here's hoping Jericho mops the floor with him.
Match starts with both Tomko and Jericho running past each other to the outside to grab weapons. One shot with a pipe to Jericho, and he's immediately busted open. Tomko then starts choking Jericho with the pipe. Jericho comes back with a sleeperhold. They both go outside and get chairs. Jericho grabs a kendo stick and nails Tomko with it. Tomko grabs a kendo stick of his own, but Jericho steals it and nails him with it! Haha! I love it! They then get deuling garbage cans. What is this, a hardcore match?
Tomko nails Jericho with the garbage can, but it's blocked. Walls of Jericho! Tomko doesn't tap. Tomko reverses a headlock into a back suplex. Tomko signals for the Unprettier. Jericho blocks it! But Tomko hits it. Jericho no sells! He jukes and jives! Walls of Jericho! Tomko doesn't tap. Jericho way-lays Tomko with a chair. Cover by Jericho, and it's over in 3 minutes, 38 seconds. **
Does Matt Agree?: You guys may think my match rating is too high for a squash, but that was a fun little match. These two beat the hell out of each other with weapons. And anytime Jericho squashes an undeserving fuck I smile. Here's hoping the same happens at Bad Blood. Jericho wins, and maybe, just maybe, he'll get a main event shot sometime down the line.
The N64 says: Let me save you some trouble. Tomko squashes Jericho and wins with a full nelson suplex into a bridge at 7:58.
Does Mike agree? God, I hope not. I long for the days when this feud with Trish and Jericho actually was entertaining to watch. Now Tyson Tomko has come in and ruined it all. I'm a little worried that he might win the match too, but I think that Jericho's probably going to take it. I know he's not in the upper echelon of wrestlers on RAW right now, but he is a big enough superstar to be able to go over someone like Tomko.
The most beautiful clusterfuck ever
Victoria (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for the Women's Title
The Gamecube Says: The betting man would not be wise to go for Gail in this match. But he would bet on this match lasting a long fucking time. Thank God, Victoria's not dancing on the Gamecube. Trish is still pointing, though. Two months ago, Victoria and Lita put on a four star match, let's see if the same happens this time around.
There's way too much going on for me to call, so I'll give you the highlights. Gail bloodies Victoria with a chick kick right at the beginning of the match. Victoria and Trish hit a double flapjack on Lita on the outside, busting her open. Trish bodyslams the referee for the hell of it, and I had to chuckle at that. Trish hits a top rope splash on Lita, but Gail breaks it up. Trish then dropkciks the referee. What's up with Trish and the ref? Lita hits a twist of fate on Gail, but the ref was out of position, still reeling from Trish's dropkicks. Lita hits a Litasault on Gail, who was standing up. Stratusfaction on Lita, but Lita kicks out. Reverse DDT on Gail by Victoria. Both Trish and Lita got pins at the same time, and the ref counted two for Trish's pin, and then two for Lita's pin. What a spot! Top 3 nominee! Gail and Lita do a Hardy Boyz imitation double legdrop on Victoria. Trish blocks the Widow's Peak into a Huracanrana. Victory roll by Trish on Vicky while Lita and Gail are posing, and that almost got 3! Trish does her top rope Huracanrana move to Gail! Haven't seen that move in FOREVER! Cover, but Vicky breaks up the pin! Stratusfaction to Gail. It gets the pin! Trish Stratus is the new Women's Champion in 14 minutes, 58 seconds! ****
Does Matt Agree?: Nope. Lita's gonna win this match. She's involved in a huge storyline with Kane right now, and it's been AGES since she's been Women's Champ. Does she deserve it? No, but the marks think so enough for management to give her the strap. And what about this PPV, huh? Reading this match on paper won't do it justice. The action was very back and forth, and quite enjoyable to watch.
The N64 says: Well, this should be fun. Irish whip by Gail Kim into a drop toehold on Trish. Victoria hits a back suplex on Lita. Backrake by Kim, and some punches by Victoria. Scoop slam by Trish. Big slap by Trish. Irish whip by Victoria into a neckbreaker. Snap suplex by Victoria. She goes up top and hits a flying headbutt. She sets up Lita and drops her on her head! She goes for the pin and gets it at 1:56 while the other two ladies are busy fighting with each other!
Does Mike agree? Ha, that was awesome. Victoria made Lita job the fuck out in less than two minutes while the other two ladies were too busy beating the crap out of each other to notice. Simply beautiful. So, can someone explain something to me? Where the FUCK is Jazz? This is ridiculous. I think Victoria's going to end up losing here, so maybe it will be due to interference by Jazz. Eh, probably not, but I still think Victoria's losing. Maybe they'll give it to Lita.
The PS2 Says: Cash’s Gail Kim CAW is a submission based wrestler just to make sure she doesn’t blow many spots. Fatal fourways are always fun since they tend to go for a long time… sigh…
After simming this, I realized how hard it is to keep track of everything that is going on. Here’s a bullet pointed recap of the match as pairings change.
- Gail Kim/Lita and Trish/Victoria are the opening pairs. They just do the typical Smackdown! girls moves for awhile (throws via hair, etc.), and eventually Gail is knocked down. Lita and Trish go to work on Victoria and hit a tandem suplex. This results in a switch.
- Trish/Kim and Lita/Victoria are the pairs at this point. Victoria is weakened from the earlier assault by everyone and is easy fodder for Lita. Trish and Gail do nothing particularly special. The high spot of this pairing was Lita hitting a DDT (ooohhh… exciting).
- We’re back to the original pairing and Gail starts to work over Lita via those nifty little submissions that I gave her. Trish/Victoria on the other hand are just brawling around the ring. Victoria eventually gains control, and after awhile is able to hit Trish with the Widow’s Peak. She goes for the pin, but Gail breaks up the pin (curses!). With Gail braking up the pin, we wind up with new pairings…
- Gail/Victoria and Trish/Lita are the new groups we have going. Gail is wearing down Victoria, but miraculously, Victoria starts to make a comeback and everyone now has a special move ready (this will be important in a minute). Lita throws Trish into the corner and hits a clothesline, then kicks Trish down for good measure. Lita climbs to the top and hits the Lita-sault, but the pin is broken by Victoria, who now picks Lita up and delivers the Widow’s peak. The pin attempt here is broken by a newly awakened Trish, who then hits the damn Stratusfaction on Victoria. This pin attempt is broken up by Gail who slaps on an STF. Trish taps!
The winner of the match, at 7 minutes and 24 seconds (and new Women’s Champion) is Gail Kim! ***1/2
Does Cash agree? Gail has gone over Victoria left and right lately, so I don’t expect her to take the belt off Vicky. Trish being entered into this match kind of made it a wild card for me though. I can see them hotshotting it to Trish to give her and Tyson more exposure since Christian’s injury. Lita winning is completely out of the question though. I’m hoping that we get old Victoria back though… I don’t like dancing Vicky very much. It makes me sad.
The Battle of the Future
Randy Orton (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin for the Intercontinental Title
The N64 says: Hard chop by Orton to start. Punches by Orton and another hard chop. Spinning kick by Orton. Benjamin counters with a couple rights of his own. Irish whip into the corner by Orton. Orton springboards off the second rope and hits a moonsault ala Jericho. Another hard chop by Orton. Snapmare by Benjamin. Whip by Benjamin into the ropes and an elbow to the face. DDT by Benjamin. Standing side suplex by Benjamin. Hard right by Benjamin, followed by a backbreaker. Swinging neckbreaker by Benjamin. Orton counters with an enziguri. Irish whip by Orton into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Double arm suplex by Shelton, followed by another backbreaker. Benjamin sends Orton to the outside. Orton goes for an underarm suplex, but Benjamin counters with a backbody drop. Benjamin then hits the West Coast Pop for the pinfall and the Intercontinental championship at 4:25.
Does Mike agree? No. Orton's push is going too strong for it to be stopped by Benjamin. Although I'm not so sure they're going to have Benjamin lose cleanly. I think this feud could keep going for a couple more months and culminate in a Summerslam match. That would be a very good way to wrap this feud up, plus I think in a couple months, their match would be a lot better than their match at Bad Blood will be.
The PS2 Says: I’m going to surprise Cash with this match. It’s going to be a five star match that goes for about 15 minutes!
Shelton starts out by beating Randy down. Randy eventually works his way back to the forefront of the offensive assault and just beats the bloody hell out of Benjamin. In this sequence, there were suplexes, DDTs, Irish whips into the corner, stomps, strikes… pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. After about a minute and a half of beating on Shelton, Randy is ready to hit the RKO… but Shelton gets out of it! Shelton fights back, but is immediately stopped by Randy going back on offense. Randy then does the same thing as he did before and just beats Shelton like a red-headed stepchild. This time though, the beating only lasts for about a minute until Randy does hit the RKO for the victory. Randy Orton wins via pinfall in a squash that lasted 3 minutes and 19 seconds. *1/2
Does Cash Agree? The main cool point of the match was that Shelton Benjamin, even after getting beaten down, managed to get out of the RKO. The belt isn’t coming off of Orton yet. He’ll wind up cheating to win and Flair will take a bump off the apron. Hopefully they were holding back this past Monday because if this match is like that one I’m going to be very sad. I’ve noticed that a lot of results are going to make me sad during this PPV.
The Gamecube Says: I still mark out for the old instrumental Evolution music. I wish it had the Resivoir Dogs video that came with it. Benjamin's a CAW, but Orton isn't built that strong in this game. I think this'll be a pretty even match.
Orton taunts to start, and throws Benjamin outside the ring. Benjamin tries to fight back, but gets a bodyslam for his troubles. Orton throws him back into the ring, and hits a small package for a 1. Snap suplex by Orton, followed by a bodyslam. Orton mount punches Benjamin, and busts him open. Another Small package, but only gets 2. Orton grabs a chair. Another small package, but only 2. Orton is owning Benjamin right now. Orton grabs a pipe, but Benjamin fights back with a back suplex. Armdrag by Orton. Orton signals for the RKO. Benjamin blocks the RKO! He signals for the powerslam! He throws Orton to the outside. Back inside, Benjamin hits the Powerslam! 1 count only. Benjamin blocks an Orton suplex and suplexes him. On the outside, Benjamin locks in a half crab. Back inside, Benjamin blocks a headlock and back suplexes Benjamin. Benjamin signals for the powerslam! Orton with a small package! Benjamin kicks out.
Orton dropkicks Benjamin. Another Dropkick. Benjamin signals for the powerslam. He nails it! Cover! 1....2....Orton kicks out! Orton signals for the RKO. He nails it! Benjamin surprisingly no sells! I'm so impressed with my CAW Benjamin! Poweslam! Cover him! 1...2...Kick out! Surprisingly, this has been quite the match. Orton bodyslams Benjamin, and signals for the RKO. He hits it! That's GOTTA be it! Cover 1...2....NO! ANOTHER RKO! Benjamin's out! 1...2...NOOOO! MY GOD WHAT WILL IT TAKE??
Back suplex by Orton. He goes up top. Big splash! 1...2...3! Orton retains the Intercontinental Championship at 8 minutes, 49 seconds! ***
Does Matt Agree?: Absolutely, and I bet the match will be just as good as it was here. Orton retains at Bad Blood, setting up a ladder match for the belt in July, where Benjamin takes it. This PPV has been GODLY thus far.
The Crippler vs. The Crippled
Chris Benoit (c) vs. Kane for the World Heavyweight Title
The PS2 Says: I’m going to make the Oratory hate me by having Kane squash Benoit!
Benoit runs at Kane, but he’s given a nice little hip toss for his troubles. Kane picks up Benoit and immediately hits a powerbomb pin on Chris. God kicks out like the trooper that he is, but Kane goes back on the offensive. Kane just hits some strikes on Benoit that back him against the ropes. Kane knocks Benoit to the outside and gives him a sidewalk slam (wooo! Kevin Nashesqe!!!) to the ground. Kane stomps on Benoit for awhile, but Benoit finally rolls out of the way of one of the stomps. Kane runs past Benoit and into the steps. Being the god that he is, Benoit runs to Kane, grabs his waist, and gives him a release German suplex. Benoit then gets into the ring and Kane is counted out. Wooo! Benoit wins via count-out at one minute and 38 seconds because he’s smarter than Kane. *
Does Cash Agree? Benoit is going over here, there is no question about that. The thing is, Benoit will make Kane look infinitely better than he has looked in a long time. Like they said in the “World’s Greatest PPV Preview”, this is exactly the type of person that Benoit needs a win over at this point. The crowd still views Kane as a monster and Benoit rocks when he’s playing the underdog. Lauren can confirm how surprised I was when Kane managed to power out of the Crippler Crossface the other night on Raw. If anyone can tell me how long it’s been since someone physically broke the crossface, I’d be very appreciative.
The Gamecube Says: Kane has been notoriously strong on Gamecube. Benoit and his title are in deep trouble.
Kane immediately starts with a choke throw. Benoit battles back with a gutwrench. Kane grabs a cookie sheet. Benoit with a back suplex. He blocks a Kane punch and clotheslines the heck out of him. Dragon screw by Benoit. Kane kicks Benoit down and applies a rear chinlock. Benoit and Kane trade chair shots on the outside. Benoit gets the advantage on Kane and signals for the Crossface! He gets it on! Kane doesn't tap. Gutwrench by Benoit, followed by a scoop slam and a dragon screw. Kane gets Benoit in the corner and strikes him with his knee. Benoit wins a test of strength, and hits a northern lights suplex, LONG 2! Kane siganls for the chokeslam! Benoit fights back and doesn't allow Kane to goozle him. Benoit signals for the crossface, but Kane gets out of the ring. Very smart.
Benoit gets back in the ring, and Kane is having a hard time getting up. He gets back JUST beofre the count reaches its max. Choke throw by Kane. He signals for the chokeslam. They continue to block each other's moves. Chokeslam by Kane! Cover! 1...and a kick out. Big kick by Kane and Benoit has reopened his gash from earlier in the night. Guess those stitches didn't help. A bloody Benoit sginals for the crossface! Kane signals for the chokeslam! Benoit smartly goes to the outside. They get back in the ring, and Benoit covers Kane! Only two. Kane works on Benoit in the corner. Snap suplex by Benoit. Cover. 1...2...Kane kicks out.
Kane signals for the chokeslam! But Benoit AGAIN goes outside. This is getting lame. Crowd chants "You Suck" at Kane. Scoop Slam by Kane, cover only 1. Abdominal stretch by Benoit. Sleeperhold by Benoit, and Kane doesn't quit! They BOTH signal for their finishers! Who's gonna get it? CROSSFACE! KANE TAPS! Kane joins the "You Tapped Out" club and Benoit retains his title at 9 minutes, 5 seconds! ***1/4
Does Matt Agree?: Yep. Benoit wins, but Kane makes it interesting. Kane has definitely proven to be carryable, and Benoit's just the guy to do it. Benoit will be exhausted, but by the end of the night, he'll STILL be World Champ, despite Edge's interference.
The N64 says: Out comes Benoit for his second match of the night. We start off the match with an abdominal stretch by Benoit...okay. Hard chop by Benoit. Kane counters with a punch of his own and a running DDT. Irish whip by Benoit into the corner. Another hard chop by Benoit. Snapmare by Benoit. Another hard chop by Benoit. Kane goes for another running DDT, but Benoit counters into an abdominal stretch. Scoop slam by Kane, followed by a vertical suplex. Big Boot by Kane. Side backbreaker by Kane. Irish whip by Kane, who again goes for the DDT but gets it reversed into an abdominal stretch. Kane with another big boot, who then tries to choke out Benoit. Benoit counters with some punches to the face. Enziguri by Kane. Benoit goes for a snapmare, but Kane clotheslines the shit out of him. He signals for the end and delivers a Tombstone Piledriver, and it's all over at 3:38.
Does Mike agree? Wow, Benoit never had a chance. That was just complete and utter domination by the big red machine. However, in the end, it's just a video game, and Kane's not winning. Benoit's a better choice for a champion, and while Kane could be built up again to champion status ala Big Show, he's not there right now. There's no way Benoit's losing this match.
They HATE each other! Riiiight...
Hell in a Cell: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels
The Gamecube Says: This should be good...
The Game starts out punishing Michaels. Michaels fights back with a sleeper. The Game hits an atomic drop, but Michaels fights right back with a bevy of armdrags. Suplex by HBK, followed by a jawbreaker. And another. Triple H counters into a dragon sleeper. Followed by a neckbreaker. Shawn whipped into the corner and then a high knee by Trips. Followed up by a neckbreaker. HBK floats over a suplex, and he throws Hunter to the outside. Back inside, neckbreaker by HBK. Neckbreaker by The game, and he signals for the pedigree! HBK throws the Game outside, and Hunter can't get the pedigree on. They continue to fight on the outside, but they're not trying to escape the cage. Shawn siganls for Sweet Chin Music. The Game stops him though. "HBK" chant breaks out. Triple H with a sleeper. He signals for the Pedigree. Now a "You Suck" chant breaks out. HBK signals for Sweet Chin Music, but doesn't get it. They're back in the ring finally.
Indian Deathlock by The Game. Cover. 1...2...HBK kicks out. Trips punishes Shawn in the corner. Atomic drop by The Game. A whole bunch of reversals leads into an abdominal stretch. Back outside they go. Trips signals for the pedigree. Will he hit it? No, they're just gonna taunt. HBK goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Hunter blocks! Back in the ring they go. PEDIGREE! FINALLY! Cover...1, 2...3! Hunter wins in 7 minutes, 9 seconds. *3/4
Does Matt Agree?: I don't really know. Trips hasn't won a PPV match since Armageddon, but for that matter, neither has HBK. Trips is probably leaving to film his movie, so all logic says that Michaels will take it. But remember, this IS Triple H, so he might go over. You know what? I'm going to go with Michaels. He's due for a win. Hopefully it'll be leagues better than this match. They didn't even use the cage at all! It was just a match of who could hit their finisher first.
The N64 says: So, I can't do HIAC matches, and a cage match isn't really the same thing, so we're just going to go with a good ol' hardcore, no DQ match. Some taunting on both sides to start things off. Vertical suplex by HHH. Hard right by Shawn. Standing side suplex by HBK, followed by a hard right. HBK locks in the Figure Four early, but HHH gets out of it. Punches and chops by both, and HBK whips HHH into the ropes and drops him with an elbow. Jawbreaker by HBK. Irish whip by HHH into a massive clothesline. Standing side suplex by Shawn. Elbow to HHH's sternum. HHH hits a desperation low blow. And HHH walks right into a Superkick! Shawn covers but only gets two. Hard right by Shawn into a rollup that gets another two count. Irish whip by Shawn who goes for a flying forearm, but HHH counters. Big knee by Hunter. Shawn knocks down Hunter, then goes up top and hits a flying shoulder block. Side suplex by Hunter. Punches and chops by Hunter, followed by another knee. HHH sets up Shawn and hits the Pedigree. He goes for the pin and only gets a one count! Back suplex on Shawn. Clothesline by HHH, who then throws HBK to the outside. Back inside the ring HBK hits a standing side suplex on HHH followed by a neckbreaker. Hard right by Shawn. Headlock by Shawn. Chops and punches by both. HHH goes for a neckbreaker, but HBK turns it into a schoolboy rollup that gets the 1-2-3 at 7:38!
Does Mike agree? Well, that was underwhelming. A schoolboy off of an attempted neckbreaker? Weak. Oh well. The real match is going to be much better than this one, and HHH is going to come out on top. It's really nice to see HHH going into a PPV with absolutely no concern for the World Title picture. In fact, wasn't the last time Hunter wasn't involved with the title when he fought Shawn at Summerslam almost two years ago? Just an interesting tidbit for you readers.
The PS2 Says: Shawn starts out by running at Trips and hitting the diving clothesline. This brings us KIP UP #1! That’s five stars so far. Michaels goes to work on Trips, until a strike is blocked and Trips starts to fight back. He throws Michaels into the ropes and gives him a nice neckbreaker. Hunter immediately goes to the outside and emerges with a chair from under the ring. He gets back into the ring and starts beating the ever living crap out of Shawn. This is only 45 seconds into the match and Hunter already has Michaels’ in the yellow. Things are not looking good for the Heartbreak Kid. After knocking Michaels down again, Hunter goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. Seemingly frustrated, Hunter goes back outside and grabs a chair. When he gets back in and goes to hit Shawn, HBK grabs the chair and hits Hunter. It’s not one of those little chair shots though, it’s one of the ones that when you get hit, you drop to your knees and are then hit again. This busts Hunter open. Michaels just starts beating Hunter down until Hunter rolls out of the way and runs out of the ring. Hunter decides that now is the time to exit the cage and does so. Michaels is right behind and grabs Hunter to hit a snap suplex. He then beats on Hunter for an eternity. At this point, Hunter’s head is in the dark red, so we should see him lose to some Sweet Chin Music soon. Michaels goes for a figure four and is kicked in the ass by HHH. Trips gets up and beats Michaels down for a minute, but then decides that the view is better from the top of the cage. Michaels follows and they start exchanging strikes on the top of the cage. Out of nowhere, Michaels hits Hunter with Sweet Chin Music… AND HUNTER FLIES OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE!!!!. Holy shit! Michaels goes for the Moonsault from the top, but misses Hunter completely. Everyone is down on the ground and just stays there for about twenty seconds. The first to rise is Michaels, but both competitors are in the red all over their whole body. Michaels grabs Hunter, but Hunter reverses and hits the Pedigree on Michaels! The pin gets a three count! Triple H wins HIAC against Shawn Michaels at 8 minutes and 21 seconds. ****
Does Cash Agree? These guys can’t even turn in something below four stars on a damn video game! That was the best match that I have ever simmed (even topping Booker T beating the Undertaker in 17 seconds). The bump off the top of the cage was insane and the moonsault that missed to follow was just as bad. Look for Michaels to completely die in this match, but don’t even begin to believe that Hunter won’t die as well. I’m now going to proclaim that this match will be ***** and that Shawn will take some nasty bump. I would like for Michaels to beat Hunter, but that’s not going to happen.

Mike's Final Thoughts: Like I said, this is a pretty solid card. The N64 would have you think otherwise with some of the shitty matches it put on, but the fact of the matter is, the main event matches on the card are going to be good. HIAC is going to be GREAT, and the tag and IC matches should both be solid. Hopefully Victoria can carry the women's match to something decent, as well as Jericho carrying Tomko. Eugene and Coach will be enjoyable no matter what, because Dinsmore is just so money right now. There really isn't anything on here that's going to be bad, per say. Thank God we're not watching the Smackdown roster this month.
Cash's Final Thoughts: That final match was insane and made all the simming worth it. I’ve never even superkicked someone off the top of the cage. Bloody amazing. Thankfully, I didn’t have a forty-one minute match on this card. After doing the simming, I’m actually a lot more excited about the PPV (not to mention, I think I have enough money to order it now!). Match of the night will easily belong to Triple H and Shawn Michaels, but I think that the second best match of the night will surprisingly be Benoit vs. Kane. They’ll narrowly edge out (ha ha, get it?) Benoit/Edge vs. La Resistance. Will this be the end of Michaels and Hunter though? Will this keep going for the next 1000 years? Tune in come Summerslam after Michaels and Hunter are back to find out! This PPV will be towards the top of the spectrum, but I think it’ll be carried by one match. Ranting Cash might just make another appearance in WWC for the Great American Bash… tune in to find out! I need a cool catchphrase to end these things with… hmm… Seagull, show them my motto!
Matt's Final Thoughts: Well, if that wasn't the best simulation I've had since joining WWC. Seriously, that was an awesome PPV, shitty main event aside. No silly count outs or DQs, a **** and a ***** match. I doubt the real Bad Blood will be AS good, but it'll be good. Orton/Benjamin has the capability to surprise, Benoit will carry Kane to a decent match, and HBK and HHH will tear the roof off. I was going to order this Pay Per View, but now that WWE has increased the webcast price tag from 20 bucks to 35 bucks, I refuse to order it. No Hell in the Cell match is worth 35 bucks to watch on your computer.
Until next month, we are the United Nations, and this has been When Worlds Collide.
