The Oratory

The Oratory has been in existence since 1999 providing pro wreslting and Mixed Martial Arts fans with content on a regular basis. We strive to write the articles that you want to read about whether they are previews, reviews or just regular opinion pieces. Thanks for reading and we will continue to bring you the best pro wrestling and MMA content on the internet. We also miss The Berzerker. Do you?

  This is Who We Are
The Oratory has always been about one thing and one thing only; delivering columns that are undeniably the best on the internet, and doing so on a regular basis. We aren't professionals, we don't get paid by the word (or at all.) We're doing this because we love the sport, we love what we dso and we care about our readers. In this section, take the opportunity to learn a thing or two about the heart sand soul of the Oratory, its incredible staff.

John C.
Co-Administrator of the Oratory, John has been with the Oratory from its beginning in February 1999 until present day. In late 2006 he brought back "The John Report" after a long hiatus and plans to retire and unretire another 18 times before 2020.

Marcus Madison
One of the most versatile players on the staff, Marcus Madison has matured into a fine writer since joining the Oratory staff in 2001. He'll capture your imagination with "Solstice Scriptures" and pique your interest with his "Scriptures Interviews" with the stars.

Leon Thomas
A new Oratory hire in the summer of 2005, Leon has been a staple at Rajah.com since 2003 and is a welcome addition to the Oratory family. His column, "Beauty in Wrestling" previously focused on the highs of professional wrestling but now covers a wide variety of topics.

Scott Newman
Yet another recruit from the Reader's Columnist Corner, Scott's assaulted the big leagues with his refined column, "Morning Glory." A blue chipper through and through, Newman's been a major supporter of the Oratory Forums since its infant stage. These days he's the MMA guru around the Oratory. Knuckle up!

Dave Spinosa
Also Co-Administrator of the Oratory, Dave is an old school name come back from the grave, suckah. Author of "And It's Like That" and "All That's Puro", as well as portions of "The World's Greatest PPV Previews" and the weekly Smackdown! grades, Dave somehow finds time to head up our mind-bogglingly large forums.

Tim Glancy
Tim is the resident Mr. Negative on the Oratory. But he expresses his opinions in such a witty way that you can't help but smile when you read his musings. He was hired to the mainpage in May of 2006. He authors "Mr. Glancy's Neighborhood" as well as the "Half Empty Half Full" review with Cash.

This is Who We Were
Throughout its history, dozens of tremendous writers have passed through the hallowed halls of the Oratory. And, while many have left the site after years of dedicated service, their memories still remain. Both in the minds and conversations of the current staff, and in their own words and opinions, these historic former Oratory writers continue to uphold everything the site has stood for, in not only the past and present... but also the future.

Make sure you check out the archives provided in these profiles, as those are the real stars of the show.

drqshadow
A former Administrator of the Oratory, drq was with us since it started in February of 1999 and stuck around until May of 2005. Occasional author of "Ringside Shadows", and host of the weekly Oratory RAW Review Crew, drq handled the design aspects of the site and regular maintenance of the Oratory itself.

Justin T
Justin is the author of a column titled "All In A Day's Workrate." Justin has also become known for his profoundly original "Pay Per Value" recaps of monthly PPV events, both past and present.

Derek Ryan
Hired in January 2007, Derek's reputation for being the biggest Dragon Gate fanboy and supporter since the Toryumon days boosted him to the mainpage. His love of the less mainstream Japanese wrestling scene knows bounds that exceed the DG walls, however, as he is also known to follow Kaientai Dojo as well as take in as much 90s Japan shoot-style as possible.

Chris Gow
As the runner up in the 2005 Oratory Writer Search, Chris Gow didn't rest on his laurels. He kept on writing in the RCC and now he's made it to the main page. He writes "Between The Lines" and now you have to figure out what lines those are.

Mike Maloney
A member of the forums almost since their very inception, Mike's continual efforts in the Reader's Columnist Corner were rewarded in the spring of 2005, when he was brought up to the main page amid much fanfare. Since then, Mike has continued to impress with his regular column, "Make the Grade" and his signature PPV review series, "Rival Schools."

Cash
A Oratory Forum staple for the past three years, Cash has earned the respect of his peers through his extensive knowledge of wrestling history and how to run a wrestling company today. His extremely positive attitude toward the product as a whole has rubbed off on many people, allowing them to enjoy wrestling as a whole more. He was hired to the mainpage in May 2006.

Samir
Returning gloriously to the hallowed halls of the Oratory after years out in the real world, Samir proved he still had what it takes with a string of great works in the RCC before finding himself called back up to the main page once again. Samir wrote "Seize the Moment" and really loves squirrel nuts. Find out more by clicking that link.

Brett Berliner
A new face on the ever-growing roster of the Oratory, Brett was called up from the Reader's Columnist Corner in the late summer of 2003. In addition to contributing to the weekly RAW Review Crew, he also authors "Say What?" and carries Justin's old torch with various "Pay Per Value" event reviews.

The Maverick
A key part of the board's past, Maverick's prose often roamed far outside the traditional scope of "Here's what McMahon's doing wrong." His imagination is boundless, and his column "Writing on the Wall" was an obvious outlet.

Ian Weinstein
The most dominant force on the RCC over the last several months, it was really only a matter of time before Ian brought his big show to the bright spotlight of the main page. As the author of "Anonymous Articles," Ian never fails to provide a generous portion of food for thought.

Lauren C.
The second late-summer recruit from the deep, dark pits of the RCC, Lauren stands proud as the first female member of the Oratory staff. But don't let that fact cloud your judgment, she's also a damned fine writer and the author of "The Hot Tag."

Mike Sawaryn
The winner of the inaugural Oratory Writer Search, Sawaryn joined the staff in September 2005. His "Open Mike" columns will cover everything in the world of professional wrestling as he shows you why he was the one that was chosen out of all those Writer Search hopefuls.

Mark Price
A regular on the crew for what seems like ages, Mark's words hit the spot every time. It's like they say; everybody's got a price in wrestling... but you'll have to shell out the big bucks if you want to alter "A Mark's View."

K J
Since making that big step up from the RCC to the main page, K J met the challenge head-on and proved without a shadow of a doubt that he was ready for prime time. Face the wrath of the man with two initials with every edition of "Ruthless Aggression."

Frank Lee
Frank Lee was one of the few legitimately successful humor writers in the history of the Oratory. The author of "Being Frank," Lee could also very easily switch his style to suit a more serious opinion.

Adam Karabel
A staple at the Oratory since December of '99, Adam has since strayed from his constrictive "Wrestler Review and Analysis," broadening the scope of his columns to cover ever facet of the business.

Matt Spence
Matt was, without a doubt, the early star of the show. Pounding out issues of "The Deal" with incredible results, Spence was a former admin of the site years ago.

TD
Sporting a name which, admittedly, "doesn't actually mean anything" , TD brought "The Degenerate Showcase" to the Oratory's main page, adding a flavor all his own.

Raine Daniels
One of the loudest voices on the squad, Raine was the first ever appointee from the "Reader Columnists' Corner" in the Oratory forums. Browse through his archive and read every issue of "The Basement Rants."

Waranhayt
Waranhayt made quite a name for himself in the two years he was with us, and hasn't completely ruled out a future comeback effort. He scripted "The Waranhayt Effect" and joined his buddy Xavier Von Erck to found "The Au-Am Connection" and "When Worlds Collide."

Joshua Hughes
A Forums mainstay for many years, Josh would be the first person to tell you he belongs on the main page (and wait until you hear bout his modesty!) He's been writing columns for nearly three years now, and his recent series of columns on Japanese professional wrestling (or "puroresu") has finally earned him a well-deserved spot on the Oratory Staff.

Corey Morgan
The Oratory's resident "tape guy," Corey was born and bred in the pits of the Reader Columnist's Corner. Even so, he brings a lot more to the table than just his exhaustive collection of wrestling tapes. Read all about it with "Just My Opinion"

Adam Payne
Hired in February 2004, Adam had posted in the Reader's Columnist Corner for over a year and a half before being hired to the main page. Writing under the name Big Payne, Adam has been a fan of wrestling since the mid 90s and is one of the many new fans of Ring of Honor. Come join the fun with every edition of "House of Payne."

Phoebus Apollo
The guy who scripted the new Oratory, Good ol' PA doesn't do much else. You might catch him making a guest appearance in a post or dealing with technical issues, and of course he'll always shill for his Olde Timey Tape Reviews that were posted years ago on the O' with the help of long-time contributor Xavier Von Erck.

Chris Brosnahan
Another graduate of the infamous RCC, Chris has built a reputation as being more of an offbeat writer, often tackling subject matter that others might shy away from. While it may be difficult to tell what, exactly you're getting into with every new edition of "Standing at the Edge," there'll no questioning its quality.
